Cute crochet ghost with scalloped hem

This Halloween ghost is a rounded amigurumi head that flares into a scalloped skirt made of five double crochet shells. The head is stuffed and the skirt is left open, so it stands on a shelf or slips over a finger. It uses about 35 yards of white worsted yarn.

Frequently asked questions

How do I make the ghost stand up?

Glue or sew a circle of felt inside the head above the stuffing, then place a small flat pebble in a sealed bag inside the skirt.

Can I make it glow in the dark?

Yes. Glow-in-the-dark worsted acrylic works with this pattern; it glows best after charging under bright light.
