Every page on crochetpatterns.io follows the same editorial rules: patterns are written in US terms with stitch counts on every row, reference figures cite their source, computed tables state their method, and corrections are logged publicly with a date.
How patterns are written
Each pattern lists materials, gauge, finished size, abbreviations and notes before the first row. Every row or round ends with the stitch count in parentheses. Repeats are written with asterisks and brackets in a consistent style.
How pages are reviewed before they are indexed
A page is only offered to search engines after a named editor has signed it off and it passes automated checks for completeness, unique content and internal links. Pages that have not passed are still readable but carry a noindex directive.
Corrections
Mistakes reported through the contact page are checked against a worked sample. Confirmed corrections are made to the pattern and recorded in its errata section with the date of the change.
Figures and data
Hook sizes, yarn weights and standard sizes follow published industry conventions such as the Craft Yarn Council standards, cited on each chart. Yardage and planning tables that we compute ourselves are labelled as estimates and show the formula used.
