• Puritan Mercerized Crochet Cotton or Puritan Star Spangled Crochet Cotton (Article 40) — size not printed; choose a mercerized cotton crochet thread that matches the finished size
• Yardage: 2 balls Shaded Lavender and 1 ball each Kelly Green, White and Shaded Yellows as printed — check the ball band for yardage
• Tapestry needle, rustproof pins and starch for blocking
• Hook: Start with a 1.65 mm (US 7) steel hook — the printed hook is a No. 7 steel — and change size to reach the printed measurements.

Flower

1. With Green ch 10, join to form a ring, ch 1 and work 20 sc in ring, join in 1st sc.
2. Row 2: Ch 4, dc in next sc, * ch 1, dc in next sc, repeat from * all around, ch 1, join in 3rd st of chain, fasten off.
3. Row 3: Join Shaded Lavenders or Purple and Silver Spangle in any ch 1 space and work 2 sc in each ch 1 space, join.
4. Next row: Start petals: ch 1, sc in same space, 1 sc in each of the next 4 sc, ch 1 to turn all rows.
