Free Crochet Hat Patterns
Free crochet hat patterns include beanies, bucket hats, slouchy hats, and baby hats with complete instructions and sizing at no cost. A hat uses a single skein or less, making free hat patterns an inexpensive way to try new stitches and yarns. Check the size range before starting, as many free patterns list one adult size.

How do you adapt a free one-size hat pattern to other sizes?
Most free hat patterns give a single adult size, but they are easy to adapt because a top-down hat is controlled by one number: where you stop increasing. Stop when the flat crown's diameter reaches your target head circumference, minus about an inch of negative ease, divided by 3.14.
Height is adjusted separately by adding or removing even rounds before the brim, using the head size chart on the hats hub.
